We are experiencing problems with auto translations. In earlier versions we always got a question dialogue where we hit "Cancel" not to perform auto translations.

Suddenly this dialogue doesn't appear and translations are performed "in the background" causing big problems for us.

I want to disable the auto translation totally, anyone got a hint for me?:?

Hi,

look at Tool - General - Translations.

Try the option "By Original and Context" for "How to select duplicate strings". This limits the automatic translation to items which are 100% the same in value and context.

Best

Markus

Hi Markus,

I tried that but wasn't satisfied.....

I changed "Update translations of duplicate strings" from Ask to No and will use that tomorrow.

It's scary that it translates things without asking though. Ask should be enough.

It feels like it worked otherwise earlier.....

Thanks :) Meta

Hi Meta,

the problem with "Update translations of duplicate strings" is that - according the documentation - it warns only for already translated rows.
So you may encountered the situation that Sisulizer did not ask you for duplicate rows which had been empty before. In other words, the warning only is given when data is about to be overwritten. Filling empty duplicate cells did not count into that category. Perhaps that gave you the experience you had?

Best

Markus

Hallo,

we have the same problem. Sisulizer always  translates empty strings automatically. This may be helpful for e.g. Yes, No, OK etc, but in a lot places, where the English word is the same but the meaning is different (context) this is a catastrophe for the translation.

In Multilizer you could disable automatic translation completely. Is there a way to disable automatic translations completely in Sisulizer as well ?

Regards
Olaf Kehm

Hi Mac500,

the needed settings are more sophisticated in Sisulizer. You find a description here:

http://www.sisulizer.com/online-help/GeneralSettingsDialogTranslationsSheet.htm

You find the dialog under Tools -> General -> Translations.

Hope this helps

Markus
