We are evaluating SISULizer and have some questions.
  1. Can SISULizer generate new set of resx files if we add a new language?
  2. What is the function of <right click> on a translate string => Translate => Translate duplicates. Is seems not to do what you expect.
  3. What is the difference between the function described in 2. and the one under Project => Translate duplicates.
  4. Should the translater version (generated with Exchange) have the same functionality regarding the above two functions, that seems not the case.
Sorry if the answers are in the documentation or already in the forum, but it is also a test how quick we have an aswer :)

Hi Hans,

>>Can SISULizer generate new set of resx files if we add a new language?

Sisulizer will create all needed binaries for your distribution. Of course it first has to create the needed .resx files. If you leave the switch "Delete loclized .resx files ..." off then you also can acees these files (screenshot).

>>What is the function of <right click> on a translate string => Translate => Translate duplicates. Is seems not to do what you expect.

What do you expect should happen? Sisulizer looks for duplicate original strings. If it finds duplicates it translates rows where no translation is given with the existing translation (if there is already a translation). While this also happens while translating this function needs to be used only rarely. There are also settings under Tools - General - Translations changin the behviour of this.

>>What is the difference between the function described in 2. and the one under Project => Translate duplicates.

Functions in the Project menu function on the whole project (all columns). If you click in a language column the function works only on the current column. Basically the right click functions are the same as under the Column menu. A very useful feature of Sisulizer!

>>Should the translater version (generated with Exchange) have the same functionality regarding the above two functions, that seems not the case.

The Exchange feature creates the Free edition. This has all basic features a translator will need. If you need more features for your translator we have a Translator edition.

You find the different editions and its features here: http://www.sisulizer.com/sisulizer-features.shtml

No problem. This is what this forum is about. Of course we want to encourage you to also read the online help. But if something does not work as expected we are here to help. And our customer love this service: http://www.sisulizer.com/support/support-forum.shtml#testimonials

Best

Hi,

I have to correct myself.

The right click function are a third type of usage for the function:

a) Project menu: -> All columns
b) Column menu: -> Current column
c) Right click: -> Only selected rows are affected

I just got feedback from R&D. In the next edition it will be clearer. The right-click entries will only show if multiple rows are selected.

This is a good example how questions in the forum can make Sisulizer easier to use. If something is not clear and even support fails to describe it correctly R&R can fine tune the product for the future.

Hope that helps.

Markus

Dear Markus,
That explains that the program not always reacted the same. What a little R&R (Rest & Relax) can do :).

An other question regarding the support for Mobile software using CF.NET. We noticed that the screens are very distorted when shown in the form window. Do you know why?
Hans

Hi Hans,

might be drawing problem. Send your binaries and the matching .slp to support (at) sisulizer.fi. We will look at it. If it looks still odd here we will send it to R&D for a fix.
Every project is different and sometimes some fine tuning is needed :-)

Markus

Dear Markus,

Regarding the functionality of the free modul. In that module when I select expand all, so I see every row in all files and translate a text which is repeated in several rows (duplicates) and after on the translation and clicking right ans choosing Translate, Tanslate duplicates, nothing happens. I expect the program to translate the other occurences of the same string.

Hi Hans,

can you please send me the .slp you used and the duplicate you have in mind to support (at) sisulizer.fi. We will try to reproduce.

Markus
