Hi,

Is it normal, that exe-files with embedded dlls are as big as the orgiginal exe file times the number of embedded languages+1 ?

Example:
  • Embedded dlls
Myexe.exe: 6MB
5 Languages
Resulting emb\Myexe.exe: 36MB!
Each automatically extracted dll has 6MB
  • Resource DLLs
Myexe.exe: 6MB
5 Languages
Each dll has 800KB

thank you!

Embedded DLLs should be equally big to the standalone DLLs. In your case embedded DLLs are much bigger than standalone.

Can you send me your original EXE and the one created by SL to

support (at) sisulizer.fi

Please zip them to a single zip file to make them smaller.

Jaakko

No need to send files. I found a bug and will fix it.

The bugs is fatal one. It cases Sisulizer to add original file instead of localized resource DLL to the embedded exe. This is why it gets so big but I also does not put the localized data to the file.

I fixed this in 1.6.24. It will come out in two weeks.

In the meantime do not use embedded exe build of SL. Let Sisulizer to create standalone resource DLLs and add them manually to the EXE using attached SlAddRes.exe command line tool. We use it in SL build process. Syntax is

SlAddRes.exe Project1.exe Project1.DE DE

The above command add German resource DLL, Project1.DE, to the application.
