I created a project to translate my application from English to Chinese (worked great by the way!).

Later, I was asked to create a translation for Russian.  I added Russian via the Project > Languages... dialog. My embedded Translation Engine contains only English and Chinese terms.  Is there a Sisulizer translation memory for Russian? And if there is, how do I import it?

I have Sisulizer Enterprise.

Thanks.

Hi,

as soon as you have the first translation in your project and then use "Save to Translation Memory" you will get a new column for Russian in your TM. Or you can use Tools - Translation Engines to e.g. import from TMX files containing Russian.

Best

Thanks Markus,

I think I misunderstood. I thought Sisulizer has a translation memory built in. It has a translation engine that I add strings to to create a TM... I get it now.

I was also having trouble with the default DBISAM database. I created an Access 2007 database, imported the Microsoft Glossary and it is all working.

Hi Ken,

the term Translation Memory TM can be missleading because it is not always used consistant. Most translators even name CAT tools Translation Memory: http://www.proz.com/cat.

Sisulizer has a build-in Translation Memory - but it is off course empty. That is true for all CAT tools I know. The menu item is called Translation Engine because Sisulizer also supports MTs (Machine Translation Engines).

Best

Markus
