Hi _(at)_ all,

I'm testing Sisulizer for my company at the moment and I would like to re-use our existing translation memories.
Our translators use trados and sent us the translation memories in tmx-format.

I tried to import the tmx-files but it does not work properly. Each time I confirm the import, Sisulizer gives out an error message (says "Listenindex unzulässig") and crashes down. Can anybody help?

Do I have other possibilities to re-use existing translations?

Did you try to import a TMX file to translation memory (Choosed Tools | Translation Engines, selected Documents sheet and click Add button).

Can you send the TMX file to

Ok, I tried to import the file vía File / Import.

Now I tried it as you said vía "Choosed Tools | Translation Engines, selected Documents sheet and click Add button" and got again an error message "Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 00405974 in Modul 'Sisulizer.exe'. Lesen von Adresse 0000019C"

Of course, I can send the tmx file to you.

I could not reproduce this.

What is your Sisulizer version?

In what part of import process do you get the error message?

Hi again,

We use the sisulizer Enterprise-Edition Version 1.1.12 in demo mode.

I get the error message during the import process; I will add a screenshot of it to this message. This error message is not to be confirmed with "ok", but I have to exit the program via the task manager.

After starting Sisulizer again the imported tmx file is shown in the document sheet (Choosed Tools | Translation Engines).

But I’m not sure if that means that the import has completed successfully?

Therefore, I started an appropriate translation project to see if the existing translations will be taken for this new project but it doesn’t work.

Did I miss some settings or configurations to make it work?

Hi,

there was a fix Jan 07 in Sisulizer 1.1.16. This is so pretty long ago and we did not consider that anybody is still using a previous build. Sorry for the unconvinience that missunderstanding may have caused.

Please uninstall it and download 1.6.16 fro free from http://www.sisulizer.com/downloads.shtml to get rid of that problem.

I'm sorry, but again I got an error message while loading which says: "DBISAM-Engine-Fehler ' 11013 Zugriff auf die Tabelle oder Backup-Datei verweigert."

I don't know how to handle this, am I doing sth. wrong?

It is really important for us to re-use our existing translation; we are about to purchase a professional localization tool but can't come to a final decision without being sure about the re-use of our memories...

Do you have any experiences with companies who have been effectively imported their memories?

have you created a new DB? Perhaps the old was damaged with your tries of the old build. Please try this:

Menu Tools -> Translation Engines
Click the left green "+" button
Create a fresh new DBISAM database
After you closed the New dialog you have two databases in the left list.
Please remove the old database (probably named "embedded")
Please select the old db and use the left red "x" button to remove the old database from Sisulizer.

Now retry to import into the fresh database you created.

Please make sure that you select a path for your new database where you have read and write rights.

I have created a new database, but cannot delete the old DB! (getting the same error message "DBISAM-Engine-Fehler ' 11013 Zugriff auf die Tabelle oder Backup-Datei verweigert.")

Within the new database already exists my afore imported TM; so can I overwrite it / or maybe change the name of the file to import it afresh?

So many questions, but I want it to work!

Please do the following to get rid of the mad DB:

a) Find the location of your current TM.
b) Close Sisulizer
c) Rename the folder where your TM is stored. Probably it is c:\programme\sisulizer 1\TM now. Name it c:\programme\sisulizer 1\TMX.
d) Restart Sisulizer

Now Sisulizer should report that your TM is empty. You should be able to remove it from the list and you can start with a fresh TM.

It is btw. no problem to have more than one TM in the list. Sisulizer will use them all for reading in the order they are in the list and the first one in the list for reading and writing. But this is only true for not corrupted DBs.

If your DBISAM engine is still making trouble you can off course also use one of the other local database drivers, e.g. MS Access, like Ken did.

Sisulizer will write only to one TM. You have to specify it using context menu on the desired source Source Properties - Engines:

Make sure that the Translation Memory you want to write to is the top-most enabled Translation Memory in the Source Properties - Engines tab

But I now have another problem concerning the Translation Engine:- I imported a Borland Translation Repository-Datei (*.xml)Initially it worked well and sizulizer translated all strings imported via the xml. But my Translation Memory doesn' fill up. I tried to save the Translation Memories manually via "File>Save Translation Memories, but the status report says: "0 Translations saved in Translation Memory". I also tried to change some translations in my project after I'had chosed to "Prompt before overwrite". But I didn't get any prompt. Wheras I'm still not sure whether the translation memories have been saved or not, cause the number of translations in the translation engine have not been changing. I dont know where to start off to solve this?!Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi,

please make sure that the status of your translations is high enought to be saved into the TM. If the setting is "Complete" (see screenshot) and your rows have a lower status they are not saved to TM. Change the setting to your needs.

Oke, your are right! The status of my translation was "translated" but not "completed"!

I changed that, but the saving of TMs isn't working anyway! The report still says "0 Translations saved in Translation Memory"!

Do you have other ideas, what might be the probl.?

And I have another question concerning the TMs: when I have a project with 2 target languages; will translations be saved in one Translation Engine? Then I get a Translation Memory with three (1 source, 2 target) languages in it? How can I seperate the languages when exporting? Or am I better of to have projects with only one target language?

Hi,

Sisulizer saves the strings only once or after they have been changed. Take a look at the status area to find out how much strings are already in your TM.

Hi,

the language pairs are stored in one database. You can easily export single languages to a standard TMX file using the export function of the Translation Engine dialog and choose the desired language. See screenshot.
