Hi again,

I have just validated my translation and have a few questions on how to deal with the results.

How can I correct formatting string parameters? The report shows that a few translations contain "invalid placeholder values" I've tried to correct them by copying the original to get the original placeholder and then write add my translation. But it doesn't help it's mostly the placeholder %1 that gives me trouble.

Another question is, if there is a posibility to edit in correct spelling because the suggestions form the dicitonary don't help. And often the report says words are misspelled but I think it's because they contain the ampersend or in another case the spell check doesn't recognise that "Strg" is the german translation for Ctrl.

Thanks

Ann-Christin

Hi,

can you please post a sample of a line reporting such errors please?

The translations must have the same placeholders as the original. If the original is

"Delete file %1" should become "Datei %1 löschen"

We will completely re-designing spell-checking for the next major version of Sisulizer.

Best

Markus

Ok, thank you than. But since I need to describe the different functions of Sisulizer in my thesis, I would need to know what the problem was. Was it a bug or was the problem caused by the program I have to localize?

There was a bug in Sisuzer. It recognized the following string

"Can not load %1 files."

as a dynamic message pattern when it was not it.

I fixed this 1.6.8 and now SL handles that string as plain string and not parrent string of printf or sprintf function.
