Hello! I'm new to your product, so do not blame me if my qiestion is stupid or has been discussed earlier. So my task is to localize CHM file. I created a project loaded a file and all is OK :-) Then i used exchange wizard to sent this file to the translator. So i created exe file, and run this file on another workstation. To my bitter dissapointment i was not able to see string tables in sheet view (see attachment). In visual view everything was fine, but this mode is not suitable for large amounts of translation works. Please help me to see the original sheet view. Thank you in advance! High, i am still trying to solve my problem. Look what i found out. if we examine the source code of the *.slp project which is intended to be sent to the translator, we will find out the exchangehidden atttribute is set to "1" if we modify the value for this attribute to "0", the row will be visivle in string table <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <document version="1.5.3" date="20070504181437" exchanged="1"> <lang id="en" langid="9" wincode="EN" name="English"/> <source class="TChmSource" name="UserGuide.chm" original="ru" encoding="" filename="UserGuide.chm" date="20070502050738"> <node class="TChmNode" name="1136.htm"> <tag name="document"> <tag name="!doctype"/> <tag name="html"> <tag name="head"> <tag name="meta"> <attribute name="http-equiv" value="Content-Type"/> <attribute name="content" value="text-html; charset=Windows-1251"/> </tag> <tag name="title"> <text> <row id="0" exchangehidden="0">Администрирование</row> I do not know whether this is a bug or not but can you tell me how to set this attribute to "0" at design time when creating project for translation

Hi Vladimir, I tried it here and I have the same effect and I did not find a work around. I think a new build must help with this - should be only a minor flaw :-) Best Markus

Hi! Just downloaded and installed new build! The bug seems to be corrected. Thanks! Now testing other features of the product (especially interested in XML) along with trying to use HTML localization to full extent (updating topics, adding new paragraphs). If something occurs, I'll tell you. Anyway, thanks for the great support!

Hi once more! I don't know whether this is a bug or a feature, but the contents of toc (*.hhc) file is diplayed incorrectly. However, I opened my toc file in notepad and see the same stuff. But when i open the same file in MS Help Workshop, HelpWare Far or CHM intself everything seems normal and russian symbols are displayed correctly. So i attach a screenshot for you and the sample text of hhc file (opened in notepad). <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft® HTML Help Workshop 4.1"> <!-- Sitemap 1.0 --> </HEAD> <BODY> <OBJECT type="text/site properties"> <param name="FrameName" value="BODY"> <param name="Window Styles" value="0x800627"> <param name="comment" value="title:Online Help"> <param name="comment" value="base:index.htm"> </OBJECT> <UL> <LI><OBJECT type="text/sitemap"> <param name="Name" value="Àâòîðñêèå ïðàâà"> <param name="Local" value="1945.htm"> <param name="ImageNumber" value="18"> </OBJECT> <LI><OBJECT type="text/sitemap"> <param name="Name" value="Ïðåäèñëîâèå"> <param name="Local" value="foreword.htm"> </OBJECT> <UL> <LI><OBJECT type="text/sitemap"> <param name="Name" value="Î ðóêîâîäñòâå ïîëüçîâàòåëÿ"> <param name="Local" value="751.htm"> <param name="ImageNumber" value="11"> </OBJECT> <LI><OBJECT type="text/sitemap"> <param name="Name" value="Äëÿ êîãî ïðåäíàçíà÷åíî ðóêîâîäñòâî"> <param name="Local" value="752.htm"> <param name="ImageNumber" value="11"> </OBJECT> ..... Hi, I found the reason. HTML Help uses HTML format in TOC file (.hhc). However it does not put the encoding and language meta tags there. Plus it codes eveything such way that it looks like Windows code page 1252 encoded file but the actual data in our case was 1251. I did some testing and noticed that the coding is always the one specified in the .hhp file. I changed Sisulizer scanner using this encoding instead of default encoding. It works now right in 1.5.5. The new build will be available in few days. I let you know when to donwload it. Thank you for the bug report. Jaakko
