When localizing XML files different parts of a sentence with different formats (e. g. standard, italic, bold) are placed in different rows. Manual translation is not a problem, because i am able to read the whole sentence over several rows.

But how is this done with the translation memory? If the translation memory contains exactly the whole sentence, does the auto-translate-engine translate several rows at once? What happens with the different formats?

Background: I have to localize a Help & Manual project (software documentation), that can be exported to XML, translated and finally reimported without loosing structures, links and formats. It would be great, if i could use the Trados-like TMX-translation memory exported from my translation software translate10pro.

Thanks for your support,
Ekkehart v. Renesse

Currently SL inserts string into TM as whole items (e.g. including formats tags).

I am working on this. I will reply more tomorrow.
