Hi All, I've an application in Russain - It's a Delphi app but I have only the EXE. I opened it in Sisulizer using the wizard & I can see all the resources & strings in Russian but the English column is empty & all strings are "Not translated"! Do I need to supply a dictionary - I read the Tutorial & I did scan but I can't see any translated words - do I need to manualy translate all strings? I got the idea that Sisulizer has a dictionary & it can auto-translate most of the strings to english but it is not! What Am I doing wrong? Thanks & best regards, Waleed

Hi Waleed, here you find info how to use a Microsoft dictionaries with Sisulizer (http://www.sisulizer.com/localization-step-2-translate-text.shtml -> Background info). But this will only translate a small part of your application. Indeed the most work has to be done by human translators. While Sisulizer has interfaces to machine translation it is highly recommended to use a human translator who is a native speaker. Only a professional translator will produce the translation quality you need to enlarge your markets. A machine translation will not help you. It can be used in a pre-translation step (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_translation). A good source for human translators is proz.com. Markus

I use sometimes Microsoft and Borland repository (glossaries) files with Sisulizer, and Sisulizer could translate even 30 -45 % off all strings during import for project with e.g. 6000 strings to translations, but of course, I always check and validate all these strings. Here link to some useful information about import feature: http://www.sisulizer.com/online-help/ImportingData.htm Instead import translations directly to project you could import translations to Translation Memory and re-use saved to Translation Memory strings in your every project without additional import operations. Translation Memory is very useful, advanced and flexible translation tool, and you could to find some additional information about creating new Translation Memory here: http://www.sisulizer.com/online-help/NewTranslationEngineDialog.htm and configuration here: http://www.sisulizer.com/online-help/TranslationEnginesDialog.htm Very good solution for automatic translation is also feature of import from already existing Sisulizer projects. The more you work with Sisulizer, the better, because during your localization work contents of your Translation Memory and numbers of your Sisulizer projects will be to grow, so your next jobs will be more easy. But as Markus mentioned only a professional translator will produce the translation quality, and any automatic tool can't be substitute for humans. Best, Janusz

Hi Waleed, one serious hint: For the localization from Russian to English you should better look for a native English (not Russian) speaker! It is important to have a native speaker for the target language. I saw many translations from whatever to German done by non-native speakers. The results are better than machine translation but still far from good. Markus

Hi, It's me again. Now I've a text translation file of the format: RUSSIAN_WORD <TAB> ENGLISH_WORD I've tried to auto translate but it didn't work  .How to include this text file so that it auto-translate my files? Hello, I would like help you, but I need to know more details about your project. I guess you have created some project, and you would like import translations from file with tab delimited text format, isn’t it? You could to import (e.g. via menu File | Import) contents of file with this format to Sisulizer project as Regular expression defined text, already Localized text file or e.g. CSV file after short conversion. Hi, I've a Delphi EXE & a text file Russian-English with about 75% of all text in the EXE. I did the following: 1- Create new project "Localize a file" 2- Selected the EXE file & Sisulizer correctly identified it as Delphi EXE. 3- Only RT_STRIN & RT_RCDATA are checked. 4- Additional options dialogue are left as is. 5- Original Russian & Selected English. 6- Finished creating new project. I have a table of all Russian text un-translated. Now I imported the Text file: 1- File->Import->Import translations from file 2- Selected the Russian-English tab-delimited text file. 3- Accepted the default settings. 4- Clicked finished. I can see some translations but not all. I also tried to import a Sisulizer project done to the same EXE files with about 95% of the text translated but it did not import the translation & it reported "No translations imported"! BR, Waleed

Hi, if you import from a binary (EXE/DLL) you can try the option "By Value" instead of "By Context". If the binary is sligthly different then the context is different and Sisulizer can not make a match. By value makes the match on the string itself. Hope this helps Markus

"By contexts" is chosen by default & it's grayed - I can't change it!

OK, I was importing the EXE - when I imported the project file it worked! Now I have another question, can Sisulizer translate words in a sentence? For example, if I have this sentence to be translated: "Выбрать клиента из списка" and in my translation file I have: Выбрать-Choose из-of списка-list but клиента is not there, can Sisulizer write: "Choose клиента of list" or "Choose from a list klienta" like Google for example? This leads to another question, why don't you have an option to use Google or SYSTRAN (or other on-line translators) do the word-to-word translation via the net? Hi Waaled, great that the import worked for you in the end. You are right, I was wrong. Importing from binaries does not support "By Value". "By Context" is very picky. If context is not 100% the same the result will be no match. Good luck you found the way to import from the project yourself where you have more options. TM/MT/Terminology: Our R&D is working hard to add more features to translation memory system like terminology, fuzzy matching etc. This may also contains adding Google as source for machine translation. It is just a matter of time. But to complex that we could promise it for one of the next few builds :-) Markus

Hello Waleed, About translate of selected words in sentence Automatic translation features, such as, Translation Memory, Import or Translate Duplicate working always with whole strings. You could to do it manually, e.g. you could to copy original cell contents to translation cell and edit only selected words. Of course, you can after it use this prepared string with mentioned above automatic translation features. Notice, that when you use this solution with encodings other then western (e.g. string with mixed Russian end English words) you could to get Mojibake effect ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojibake ), but it is Windows limitation and this issue depend on your OS locale settings.
